how we got from last weeks spellings (time, timing, dip, dipping, drum, drumming) to this weeks spellings (arachnid, amphibians, invertebrates and reptiles) without there being some kind of weird timewarp in between??

Logic in education? That's a new one for me.
Maybe it's since we got the new Minister. The last one (allegedly)couldn't have spelt them to put them on the kerikulum, curicullum, caryqueuelum, interactive whiteboard!
I remember thinking it was time to give up helping my sons with their homework when the week's spellings included etiolate and trebuchet.
What on earth were you doing your sons homework for when they were at college Steve?
