Irish Eyes are Smiling!

What a fantastic start to the 2007 World Cup for the Irish!

Given the fact that the French gifted the first win in Pool D (and of the tournament) to the Pumas, the way is now open for Ireland to capitalise and win the group.

This would mean NOT meeting New Zealand in the quarter-final round as second highest qualifier from group D, but runner up team from Group C - pick any from Scotland, Italy, Romania or Portugal. Realistically, it'll be old rivals Scotland or MAYBE Italy.

Bring it on:-)

Not a good start I would say. Assuming we don't have a snowballs against the Pumas we will have to beat the Frence. It means that the Pumas and the French are likely qualifers from the group and after last nights performance against Namibia it's unlikely (I hope I'm wrong) will quality for the the quarter finals.

I wonder do the Alex Adoos in the IRFU now wonder if they were a bit hasty in renewing EOS's contract.

It sort of went downhill badly since my initial posting :-(

I agree with you re O'Sullivan's contract - even Justin Harrison was questioning the dryness of the ink on such in last nights post match analysis.

Even worse, I hope the Adoo's are kicking themselves now they have seen the brilliant job Alan Solomons and Robbie Kempson did in just 4 weeks with the Namibian team. Why, oh why did they let them leave the Ulster set up .....
