The Eurovision Song contest is massive, although in recent years it has become a bit of a laughing stock with countries voting for their neighbouring countries, or countries they have waged wars against etc etc. All that doesn't help Ireland, as as an island, we don't really have neighbours, and we've really only fought ourselves!
